Waterbury – Mrs. Lois A. (Pilitowski) Johnson, 81, passed away on Friday evening, December 27, at Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Theron O. Johnson. Lois was born November 22, 1938 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Constantine and Agnes Pilitowski. Raised in Waterbury, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. She received her teaching degree from the Central Connecticut State University. She taught at St. Mary's Grammar School and then went on to work as an office manager at Consolidated Precast in Thomaston until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed playing cribbage and cards. She particularly enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and karate events. She is survived by three children, Lauren Jacquart and her husband Kendall, Thea Johnson Hoyt and Theron Johnson Jr. She also leaves five grandchildren, Theron III, Christian, Veronica, Zachary and Callie, two step grandchildren, Amy and Melissa and three step great-grandchildren, Caden, Isabelle and Tyler. Also, her brother Donald Pilitowski and his wife Betty, her sister Patricia Mercier and her husband Frank and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 10:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury.
