Waterbury – Mrs. Lois (Edwards) Sheehan, 91, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 11, at Meridian Manor in Waterbury. She was the wife of Spencer F. Sheehan. Lois was born September 3, 1927 in New York, NY, daughter of the late Alfred and Lillian (Treble) Edwards. She was raised in Harlem and moved to Waterbury as a teenager and graduated from Wilby High School. She went on to graduate from St. Mary's School of Nursing and worked for many years in the surgical unit of the Waterbury Hospital. She retired from Grave Manor Nursing Home as the head nurse. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Kevin Sheehan; daughters, Sheila Mulvaney and Suzanne Sheehan; her brother William Edwards; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Sherry Ching and Sharon Sheehan. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 13, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St., Waterbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery in Thomaston will be private.
