Waterbury – Luis Alberto Vazquez, 43, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019. He was the loving husband of Cherie (Walker) Vazquez, of 14 years. Luis was born in Puerto Rico, son of Luis Alberto and Lydia Sanchez. He worked for UConn Health in the Central Sterile department. He loved basketball and football and was a UConn and Chicago Bears fan. Luis will be remembered for his kind soul, his generous nature, and the love he had for everyone. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cherie Vazquez; his sons, Nigel Vazquez, and Keon Vazquez; his daughter, Aiyana Vazquez; his parents, Luis Vazquez and Lydia Sanchez; his brother, Luis Angel Vazquez; his sister, Lydia Arlene Ramos, and her husband, Luis; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. at Sacred Heart, 13 Wolcott Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
