Waterbury- Mrs. Luisa Vargas, 62, died Tuesday morning, May 25, at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Jose A. Vargas.
Mrs. Vargas was born April 12, 1948 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico daughter of Rosa Vales Lopez of Puerto Rico and the late Mariano Pagan. She moved to Waterbury from Puerto Rico in 1971 and was a member of Smirna Misionera Church. She had received her certification as a nurse's aide from Kaynor Technical School. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Antonio Vargas of Waterbury and Ariel Vargas of Meriden; one daughter, Angelina Vargas of Waterbury; three brothers, Mariano Quiles and Enrique Maldonado both of Puerto Rico and Daniel Vales of NY; three sisters, Adacelis Vales Lopez, Palmira Pagan and Raquel Maldonado all of Puerto Rico and six grandchildren, Damaris Vargas, Brianna Vargas, Ariana Rodriguez, Oscar Vargas, Alexis Vargas and Ariel Vargas.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, at 10:30 A.M. at the Smirna Misionera Church, 30 Central Ave. Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
