Obituary
Waterbury- Mr. Manuel M. Diaz, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital Vitas. He was the husband of Carmen (Torres) Diaz.
Mr. Diaz was born October 11, 1932 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Eraclio and Juana Diaz. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Diaz had been employed at Fleisher Finishing for many years. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Carmen, he leaves his son, Hector Diaz of Waterbury, his daughters, Alma Diaz of Bridgeport, Marisol Diaz and Sellideth Diaz of Waterbury, his sisters, Anelia Diaz of The Bronx, NY and Carmen Dearmas of Ponce, P.R., 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. Calling hours will be held from 9 am until the time of the service. Burial with military honors to follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
