Obituary
Waterbury- Ms. Maria I. Lopez, 74, died Friday morning, November 11, at the Aurora Senior Living at Bucks Hill.
Maria was born June 13, 1938 in Columbia daughter of the late Walinda Lopez. Maria was raised in Columbia and moved to the United States in 1962 settling in White Plains, NY, eventually moving to Waterbury. She had worked as a CNA for several years. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant and active volunteer at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, lead rosary services and coordinated the monthly Vigil of Reparation.
She is survived by three brothers, Alfonso Lopez of Orlando, FL, Herman Lopez of West Harrison, NY and Luis A. Lopez of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, at 8:15 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for mass of Christian burial at 9:00 A.M. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday, November 13, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
