Obituary
Waterbury- Ms. Marie A. Commerford, 97, died Saturday, December 31, at the Village at East Farms.
Ms. Commerford was born February 2, 1914 in Waterbury daughter of the late John J. and Agnes (Fennelly) Commerford. Raised in Waterbury she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was also a graduate of the Teachers College of New Britain and received her Master's degree from Fairfield University. She retired as a grammar school teacher for the City of Waterbury, having spent her entire teaching career at the Slocum School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church.
She is survived by her niece, Elizabeth M. Bedard of Waterbury; her nephew, John J. Matakaetis of Newington and her great-nieces Megan Morgan and Kelly Radocchia both of Glastonbury.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, at Our Lady of Loreto Church at 10:00 A.M. Friends may call at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., on Tuesday morning from 8:45 A.M. until time to leave for mass at 9:30 A.M. Burial in Calvary Cemetery is private.
