Obituary

Marilyn McDonald of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, following a short and courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was born and raised in Waterbury and moved to Fort Myers in her retirement to enjoy the beautiful weather and her love of golf. Marilyn was a proud employee of the State of Connecticut judicial system for over 30 years, where she served as the deputy clerk of the Waterbury Superior Court. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Arthur McDonald and is predeceased by her brother Michael "Archie" McDonald. Marilyn leaves behind her brother, Brian McDonald of Waterbury, her nephews, Jon and Micheal McDonald of Ellington, her niece Alexandra Catizone (Rosario) of Boston, MA and her cousins Lauren Holstgrubbe of Sharon, CT and Wayde Warner of Washington, DC. Marilyn also leaves behind her companion, Leo Dimo and her lifelong friends Brenda Keane and Laura Binkoski (James). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 75 West Main St, Waterbury, CT. Burial to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Per Marilyn's request there will be no calling hours. Please meet directly at the church.
