Waterbury- Mario Agustin Gotay Gotay, Jr., 79, died Friday night, May 20, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. Mr. Gotay was born November 29, 1937, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Mario Agustin and Angelica (Gotay) Gotay.
He graduated from Webster High School, Penuelas, Puerto Rico. He did two years of college at the Agricultural College and Mechanics Arts in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, before he joined the U.S. Army in which he served four years. He was a radio and television, and also an air conditioner and refrigerator technician.
He loved music and was very passionate with it. He played guitar; the cuatro (which is a four-stringed instrument); and the accordion.
Mr. Gotay leaves a daughter, Angelica Gotay; two brothers, Aramis Gotay; of Fort Myers, FL; and Elliot Gotay, of Penuelas, Puerto Rico; six sisters, Sonia (Gotay) Velazquez; Lisbeth Gotay; Lorna Gotay; Ilka Gotay, all from Waterbury; Dinaseth Gotay, of Penuelas, Puerto Rico; and Tirzak (Gotay) Muniz, of Beverly Hills, FL; several nieces and nephews, which he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by a brother, Jesus Waldo Gotay.
Funeral and burial will be held privately in Puerto Rico. There are no calling hours.
