Waterbury – Martina Rivera, 70, passed away on Thursday evening, January 19.
Martina was born January 29, 1946 in San Juan, Puerto Rico daughter of the late Gonzalo Rivera and Pura Gonzalez. Martina Rivera was a strong woman who loved to dance and travel. Family, friends and helping others were her passion & delight.
Martina was predeceased by her sister Frances and survived by her other siblings: Maria, Sonya, Thomas, Junior and Victor. She is survived by her children and grandchildren; Her son Casimiro (Nancy) Betancourt and their children, Cj and Cory, Her son Adam Jr Betancourt & grandson Christopher, Her son David (Shannon) Betancourt and their children Glowie, Pee Wee, Adam and Tia, Her son Anival (Priscilla) Betancourt and their children, Aj, Dezarae, Alina, Vanessa, Kelly & Kiaris, Her son Daniel (Patty) Betancourt and their children Danny, Joey, Victoria, Mariah & Nico, Her daughter Pura Tita Betancourt Harvey and her children Ricky, Joseph (deceased), Nastalzha and Alain, Her step children Elpidio Betancourt Jr & Elizabeth Betancourt. She also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends that loved her.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 24, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
