Waterbury- Ms. Mary Jane Barlow, 65, died Monday, May 23, at her home with her family by her side.
Mary Jane was born December 9, 1945 in Waterbury daughter of Marion (Ward) Barlow, with whom she lived, and the late John H. Barlow, Sr. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Mary Jane was an active participant in the Waterbury chapter of Girls, Inc. (formerly the Girls Club of America), served on the Board of Trustees of the Waterbury Chamber and was a member of the Exchange Club of Waterbury.
In 1997, she founded MJ Barlow Career and Staffing Services, Inc. in Waterbury and served as the firm's CEO. The company quickly became known as "the gold standard in quality staffing" by her clients throughout the Waterbury area and continues today.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her brother John H. Barlow, Jr and his wife Debbie of Middlebury; her niece Julie McDonald and her husband Tom of Middlebury; her nephew John H. Barlow, III and his partner Scott of New York, NY; two great nieces, Annie and Kate McDonald of Middlebury and her great nephew Will McDonald of Middlebury. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Kathleen (Foley) Barlow.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 26, at St. Anthony's Church in Prospect at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
