Cheshire – Mr. Michael Daskal, 64, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday morning, October 5. He was the husband of Mindy (Zieselman) Daskal.
Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 5, 1952, son of Ethel (Katz) Daskal of Waterbury and the late Milton Daskal. Raised in Waterbury he had attended local schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1970. He then went on to receive his degree in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1975. He had been employed as a pharmacist at St. Mary's Hospital for 36 years, retiring in 2013. He was an active member of B'Nai Shalom Synagogue and enjoyed studying the Torah. He will be remembered as loving and devoted son, husband, father and brother and as a selfless individual.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by one son, Eli Daskal of Southington; one daughter, Gayle Daskal of Cheshire; one brother, Harris Daskal of New Haven; one sister, Margo Cohen of Woodbury, NY; his sister-in-law, Lori Pickett and her husband Alan of Sinking Spring, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A funeral service will be held today at 12:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York. Shiva will be observed at the family home, 584 Woodpond Rd. in Cheshire on Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday; morning services will be held on Sunday at 9:30 A.M. and on Friday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 A.M., afternoon and evening services will be held on Sunday and Monday at 6:30 P.M.
