Obituary
West Hartford- Mr. Miguel A. Arroyo, Sr., 88, died Sunday, March 6, at Brittany Farms Health Care in New Britain. He was the husband of the late Petra Garcia Rodriguez Arroyo.
Mr. Arroyo was born July 7, 1922 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, son of the late Rafael Arroyo Colon and Maria Cruz Roman. Miguel had retired from the former Uniroyal Co. in Naugatuck and had served honorably in the United States Army during WWII serving in the 4396th Quartermaster Service Company Unit Training Center. He will be remembered as an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by three sons, Miguel A. Arroyo, Jr and his wife Christine of West Hartford, Nelson Arroyo and his wife Debbie of Waterbury and Elvin Arroyo and his wife Donna of Waterbury; one brother Hector Luis Arroyo of Penuelas; two sisters Blvina Arroyo of Penuelas and Lidia Arroyo of NY; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. Burial will be in Penuelas, Puerto Rico.
