Waterbury – Mr. Monserrate Arce, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, at Vitas Innovative Hospice. He was the husband of Luz (Muniz) Arce. Monserrate was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico on April 25, 1938, son of the late Luis Arce and Catalina Santos. Raised in Penuelas, Monserrate moved to Connecticut in 1977. He had been employed by Uniroyal before starting employment at Specialty Packaging, from were he retired. He was an active member of All Saints – Todos Los Santos Parish. He will be remembered for his love of music and going to church. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Geraldo Arce and his wife Esther and Walter Arce and his wife Yomarie Medina; three brothers, Roberto Arce, Luis Arce and Angel Arce; five sisters, Luz Santos, Virgin Caraballo, Norma Gonzalez, Carmen Butes and Cruz Rosado; his grandchildren, Walter Steven Arce, Jeffrey Arce, Dezaray Arce, Walter Arce III, Ivette Arce, Richard Arce and Stephanie Arce and Issac Arce; his great-grandchildren, Lucas Arce, Camilla Little, Julian Arce, Evanna Badillo and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Anne (All Saints – Todos Los Santos Parish) on Tuesday, August 6, at 12:00 P.M. (Noon). Friends may visit with Monserrate's family from 9:00 A.M until time to leave for Mass at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
