Waterbury – Niazi Bylykbashi, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was the husband of the late Azbije (Seitaj) Bylykbashi, a beloved father and grandfather. Niazi was born in Pilur, Korce, Albania, son of Arif and Nasibe (Pasholli) Bylykbashi. Niazi survived the communist regime and the 23+ years of political imprisonment, and dedicated his life to justice, politics and knowledge. Book was his best friend. Niazi is survived by his 4 children, Menduhije Bylykbashi Pojani, her husband, Muhamet, and their 3 daughters, Marsela, Megi, and Ina; Shkelqim Bylykbashi, his wife, Mirela, and their sons, Mishel and Arber; Aisa Bylykbashi, her husband, Triumf, and their son, Andy; and Sybi Bylykbashi, his wife, Julika, and their daughters, Myriam Azbije and Julia; his sister, Ferruze Hysolli; and other beloved extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 16, from 3pm to 6 pm at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. Burial will be held in Albania.
