Waterbury – Mrs. Olga Maribel (Torres) Martinez, 53, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully, Friday evening, May 9, 2014 at Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Mr. Roberto Martinez.
Olga was born on August 3, 1960 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Juan and Luz Torres. Olga was a communicant of Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church in Waterbury where she was a former CCD teacher and a teacher at the Carrington School for 28 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Besides her husband, Olga is survived by her two daughters, Mariluz and Lynnette Martinez; a brother, Juan A. Torres and his wife, Dorida; two sisters, Aida Medina and Carmen Hernandez and her husband, Jose; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church,13 Wolcott St., Waterbury. Prayers of committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday evening, May 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St.
