Obituary
Waterbury- Mrs. Paula A. Lopez, 59, died Saturday, June 18, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Epifanio B. Lopez, Sr.
Paula was born June 28, 1951 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico daughter of the late Hipolito and Fidela Valentin Avila. She had been employed by Goodrich in Cheshire. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, for her laugh and her joking with others and gardening. Her greatest joy came to her when she became a grandmother; it was what she always wished for and wanted most.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Epifanio B. Lopez, Jr and his wife Eileen of Waterbury; three daughters, Angelica P. Lopez, Christina L Lopez and her husband Joey and Milagros D. Lopez all of Waterbury; two brothers Freddy Avila of Baltimore, MD and Hipolito Avila, Jr of Ft. Myers, FL; three sisters, Arcadia Garcia of Ft. Myers, FL, Maria Gonzalez of Waterbury and Juanita Hollister of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Noely, Elijah, Lorenzo, Noah, Derek and Nya as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Domingo Avila.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 21, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
