Obituary

Waterbury- Philip J. Farrell, 80, formerly of 78 Wheeler St., died Tuesday, September 20, at Glendale Center in Naugatuck.

Mr. Farrell was born in Waterbury on November 19, 1930 son of the late Sylvester C. and Marguerite (Brazil) Farrell. He was educated in local schools and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He worked as an automobile mechanic in several area garages and was a former bus driver for the Connecticut Railway and Lighting Company. He was also a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1992 after 24 years of service.

He is survived by one brother, David L. Farrell of Waterbury; two sisters, Eileen Kinney Dubois and her husband John of Enfield and Rosemary Roberts and her husband George of Waterbury and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis J. and Charles A. Farrell.

Mr. Farrell's family is very grateful to the staffs of the Glendale Center and Vitas Hospice care for the excellent care and concern shown to Philip during his illness.

Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 9:00 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main Street to St. Michael's Church for mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
