Obituary
Waterbury- Mr. Ramiro Vargas, 65, died on Tuesday, April 10, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Olga Aviles Vargas.
Mr. Vargas was born April 5, 1947 in Utuado, Puerto Rico son of Brigida Perez Vargas of Waterbury and the late Oscar Vargas. Ramiro will be remembered as a role model to all who knew him and as a great family man, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. His priorities were his family and most especially he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on construction, mechanics and most recently after retiring from Emerson Process Management in Watertown (the former Bristol, Inc.) after 20 years he received his certification as an HVAC Technician.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children, Jose J. Vargas, Monica Cueto and Veronica Quinones all of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Alexander Quinones, Jonathan Quinones, Nagelie Cueto and Giovanni Cueto; his siblings, Miriam Alicea of Brooklyn, NY; Rosa Martinez, Carmen Almodovar, Jose Vargas, Oscar Vargas, Jr and Pedro Vargas all of Waterbury and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Maria Gotay and Margarita Morales and one brother, Wilfredo Vargas.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, at 10:00 A.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held this evening (Thursday, April 12), from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
