Ramona Guzman, 64, of Waterbury, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. She was a beloved sister and aunt.
Miss Guzman was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on June 7, 1947 a daughter of the late Teofilo Guzman and Petra Alvarez. Ramona was an avid reader of mystery and crime novels and loved to travel. She had retired after many years as a telephone operator with Southern New England Telephone Co.
She leaves three sisters, Nancy Trawick-Speaks of Waterbury; Shirley Fontan Rodriguez and her husband George of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Carmen Vargas and her husband Mario of Waterbury; a brother Robert Alvarez of Waterbury; brother-in-law John Trawick; her niece and Goddaughter Julie Trawick of Waterbury, two nieces Yesenia Vargas of Wallingford and Nilsa Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; two nephews Matthew and Daniel Vargas, both of Waterbury. Her nieces and nephews were her passion, and they will forever miss her unconditional love and support.
Ramona's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Apple Rehab for the compassionate care and attention, shown to her during her stay.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.
