Waterbury – Ramona "Monchita" Rodriguez Santiago, 89, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017. She was the widow of Mr. Hector Rodriguez.

Ramona was born on June 7, 1928 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Florentino and Rosalia (Torres) Santiago. She worked as a seamstress for over 27 years before her retirement. Ramona was a very active member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ramona is survived by seven children, Hector, Oscar, Jose R., and Jose V. Rodriguez, Maria Gonzalez, Candida Rodriguez, and Carmen Garron; two brothers, Juan Santiago and Ramon Santiago; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Felix Rodriguez.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 28, from 10 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
