Obituary

WATERBURY – Raymond A. Boisvert, 83, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at VITAS Hospice, St Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of the late Margaret M. (McGuire) Boisvert, who passed away in April 2009 after 55 years of marriage.

Born in Waterbury on December 11, 1929, he was the son of the late August and Mary (Healy) Boisvert and was a graduate of Leavenworth High. He had resided in New Smyrna Beach, FL with his wife for 14 years prior to their returning to Waterbury in 2008. Mr. Boisvert was employed by the City of Waterbury, retiring in 1991. He also served in the U.S. Army receiving the Army of Occupation Medal with German Clasp and was honorably discharged in 1952. He enjoyed family events, bowling, model airplane building, puzzles and playing UNO. He was an avid fan of the UConn women's basketball team.

He is survived by three sons & two daughters and their spouses: Donald Boisvert and his wife, Sandra of Wallingford; Raymond Boisvert and his wife, Deborah of Montclair, VA.; Susan LaPerriere and her husband, Raymond; Dennis Boisvert and his wife, Marian and Lisa Gabriel and her husband, Joseph, all of Wolcott. Ray also leaves a brother, Robert Boisvert and his wife, Blanche of Glastonbury and several nieces and nephews. He was a loving grandfather to fifteen grandchildren: James Boisvert and his fiancé Justine Cappello of Wallingford, Michelle Boisvert of Middletown and Nicole Boisvert of Wallingford; Stacy (Boisvert) Simmerman and her husband, Andrew of Atoka, TN.; Raymond and Andrew Boisvert of Montclair, VA.; Brian LaPerriere of Wolcott and Kevin LaPerriere of Fort Worth, TX; Sara Boisvert of Waterbury, Thomas Boisvert and his wife Erica, Christina and Conner Boisvert and Michael, Jacob and Leah Gabriel all of Wolcott and two great grandchildren, Brendon LaPerriere and Savannah Simmerman. He was predeceased by one grandchild, Matthew Gabriel.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Edmund Caporaso, St Mary's Critical Care Unit and Sacred Heart 5 for their exceptional care and to the compassionate staff at VITAS Hospice who treated him with dignity and loving care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 11 am at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 West Main St., Waterbury. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, from 9:00 am until the time to leave for church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
