Obituary

Waterbury - Ricardo Cardoza (known to family and friends as Lynwood) was born November 14, 1939 in New York to parents Norma Massey Connor and George Massey.  He attended Slocum Elementary School and Croft High School in Waterbury Connecticut.   Ricardo (Lynwood) worked for many years as maintenance technician at Yale New Haven Hospital.  He loved music, cars and sports. He always had a story to tell whether it was a true story or a fantasy.  Even just meeting someone for the first time, he had a way of making you feel like he knew you for years and of course you had to stick around for one his of tall tales.

Ricardo (Lynwood) married Maggie Massey and had a daughter (Joyce).

Years later he moved to New Haven Connecticut and married Betty Cardoza.

God called Ricardo (Lynwood) home on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital, Waterbury, Connecticut after a long illness.

Ricardo (Lynwood) is survived by his Mother, Norma Elizabeth Connor, formerly of Waterbury CT., now living in Dover, Delaware; Sisters, Earlene Jackson of Dover, DE. and Doree Vann of Roswell, Georgia; Nephews Maury Maia, of Waterbury, CT. and Matthew Jackson of San Diego, California; Nieces, Korie Zappone of Waterbury, CT. and Tiffany Jackson, of West Palm Beach, Florida; Great niece and nephew, Taylor and Nathan Zappone of Waterbury, CT.  Brother-in-laws, Gaston Jackson of Dover, DE, Charles David Vann of Roswell, GA and Maurice Maia of Waterbury, CT.  He is also survived by cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his beloved Grandmother, Carrie Craig; Sister Cynthia Maia; Step-father Earl Connor; Step-grandfather Ernest Craig; and Father George Massey.

God knew his road was getting rough, he struggled day by day. So God released him into His arms and to Heaven he carried him away.
