Waterbury – Mr. Richard J. Commerford, 88, passed away on Friday, November 10, at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Geraldine D. (Callahan) (Cugno) Commerford.

Richard was born November 4, 1929 in Waterbury, son of the late Bernard and Mary (Ryan) Commerford. He had retired from the Ansonia Brass and Copper Company and will be remembered for his love of fishing.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Steven R. Commerford of Willimantic and Todd M. Cugno of Wolcott; one daughter, Debbie L. Brouillard and her husband Michael of Plainfield, IN; three granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren and his best friend, Tom Detlefsen of Wolcott. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Commerford.
