Waterbury – Richard Simpson, Sr, 64, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Sunday, September 10. He was the husband of Minerva (Marriott) Simpson.

Richard was born in Waterbury on December 12, 1958, son of the late James H. and Rose (Monti) Simpson. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and worked a roofing contractor for State Roofing for many years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Danny Detento Simpson, Richard Simpson, Jr and John Simpson, all of Waterbury; six brothers, James H. Simpson of Waterbury, Joseph Simpson of Waterbury, Lester Simpson of Waterbury, Theodore Simpson of Waterbury, Charles Simpson of Wolcott and David Simpson of Thomaston; one sister, Antoinette DiNicola Lucas of Waterbury; sixteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Michael Simpson.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14, at 11:30 A.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. Friends may visit with Richard's family from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery
