Rita A. Owens, 65, of Bentwood Drive, died at her home, Tuesday, after a battle with cancer. She was the widow of James Owens Sr.
Mrs. Owens was born in Waterbury, July 16, 1942, daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Telesco) Pezik. Mrs. Owens worked for Raylene's Laundromat in Waterbury for 32 years.  She was a communicant of SS Peter and Paul Church and she will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, playing bingo, nature as well as her enjoyment of reading and watching T.V.
She is survived by a son; James A. and Melinda Owens Jr. of Waterbury, two daughters; Lisa and Michael Crownshaw Sr. of Middlebury, Michelle Owens, with whom she resided, a brother; Paul Pezik Jr., of Waterbury, a sister, Ann Wallace of FL, two grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Crownshaw Jr., a dog, J.J. and cat Nibs.
Arrangements:  A Funeral Home Service will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours are today from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
