Waterbury- Mr. Robert F. Palmer, 86, died Tuesday, December 14, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Mr. Palmer was born in Waterbury on April 9, 1924 son of the late Frank and Catherine (O'Gorman) Palmer. Raised in Waterbury he was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and had retired from the City of Waterbury, where he had worked in the office for the street department for many years. He had served honorably in the United States Navy and was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
He is survived by one brother, Francis Palmer of Plantsville; one niece, Jane R. Tansley of Wolcott; two nephews, Martin B. O'Brien and Robert F. O'Brien both of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his sister, Rita (Palmer) O'Brien.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, at 10:30 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time to leave in procession for mass. Burial will be private.
