Mr. Robert Nunzio Pastore, 50, of Waterbury, with his family by his side, died Friday, November 25 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Pastore was born August 25, 1961. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's church and attended Kaynor Technical High School. He loved family and cherished animals, and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and horse racing.
Finishing first in his graduating class at Brown and Sharpe school of Mechanical Engineering in Rhode Island, he earned certification in machine operation and repair and worked as a head machinist for P&R Manufacturing and Engineering. He was also employed by the City of Waterbury.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jean E. Pastore, of Valrico, FL, and his father, Nunzio Pastore, of Waterbury. He was pre-deceased by his loving paternal grandparents, Nunzio and Pearl (Santovasi) Pastore, and an uncle, Joseph Carl Pastore. The family would also like to acknowledge two of Robert's loving friends, Ms. Sara and Ms. Judy Keliher.
Mr. Pastore is also survived by two sisters, Beverly Greco and her husband Scott of Wickford, RI, and Sherry Pizzuto and her husband Joseph of Waterbury; two brothers, Paul and his wife Geri, of Southington, and Richard and his wife Christine, of Prospect; three beloved nieces, Victoria Pizzuto and Jacquelyn and Emily Pastore; and a beloved nephew, Geoffrey Manzi and his wife Kristina, of Irving, TX.
Private arrangements are being handled by the Bergin Funeral Home of Waterbury. Memorial contributions can be made to the Waterbury Humane Society or any local chapter of the ASPCA.
