WATERBURY — Mr. Robert Rodriguez, 56, of Enoch Street, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long illness. He was a devoted husband to Celia I. (Villafane) Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez was born October 16, 1953, son to Tomas and the late Genoveva Rodriguez. He obtained a Masters Degree from the University of Bridgeport, and worked as a counselor for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in Waterbury for the past seven years. Robert was a former member of St. Margaret's Church, a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Sagrado Corazon and helped at the Tabernacle Church with many community projects such as the Food Bank of Waterbury. He enjoyed and had a tremendous amount of love for his family and always took part in activities. He loved to play the Bass guitar, go fishing and was an avid Yankee fan, always watching the game.
In addition to his father and wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Thomas James Rodriguez of Boston, Gerardo Manuel Rodriguez of Waterbury, a daughter, Alexandra Rodriguez of Waterbury, five brothers, Jose Luis Rodriguez of Waterbury, Thomas Rodriguez and his wife Margarita of Waterbury, Gerald and his wife Daianna Rodriguez of Waterbury, Manuel and his wife Rebecca Rodriguez of Waterbury, Carlos Rodriguez of Waterbury, five sisters, Lillia Velez and her husband Eduardo of Port Charlotte, FL, Mary Ann Velez and her husband David of Waterbury, Dolores Rodriguez of Waterbury, Genevieve Santiago and her husband Raul of Waterbury, Antonia Ferrucci and her husband Dominic of Waterbury and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Miriam Joines Rodriguez.
