Obituary

Waterbury – Mrs. Rose (Monti) Simpson, 93, passed away on Thursday, April 23, at Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of James H. Simpson, Sr.

Mrs. Simpson was born November 7, 1921 in Winooski, Vermont, daughter of the late Charles and Antoinette (Campo) Monti. She attended local schools and had been employed at the American Brass Company and Casertano Farms. She was a member of the American Legion Post 165 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by nine sons, James H. Simpson, Jr and his wife Nicolina, Donald Simpson, Joseph Simpson and his wife Linda, Lester Simpson, Theodore Simpson, Michael Simpson and Richard Simpson all of Waterbury, Charles Simpson of Wolcott and David Simpson and his wife Margaret of Thomaston; one daughter, Antoinette DiNicola Lucas and her husband Robert T. Lucas of Waterbury; two sisters, Lucy Bissonette and Julia Ciavarello both of Waterbury; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Rose's family would like to thank the staff of Village Green of Waterbury and Vitas Hospice for the loving care they provided to their mother.

Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning, April 28, from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Burial and committal will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. F
