Obituary

Waterbury – Mrs. Sharon L. (Readel) Orsini, 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John B. Orsini, Jr.

Sharon was born February 25, 1944 in Medford, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Mintiens) Readel. Raised in Waterbury, she was a graduate of Wilby School, class of 1961. She became secretary to the factory superintendent of Haydon Switch & Instrument after graduating from high School. After five years of employment, she resigned to raise her children. After raising her children, she then worked for Dr. Michael C. Matzkin at the Greater Waterbury Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for five years. After which she became employed with the City of Waterbury and worked for the Health Department in the Nursing Division for many years until she transferred to the Waterbury Police Department as an administrative specialist until her retirement for the City of Waterbury.

She would often reflect on the path her life followed. She considered each accomplishment, happy events, new lasting friendships, sorrows, as steps through her journey of life. Through it, all her family was her most precious step of all. Closest to her heart was her beloved husband Jack, her children, grandchildren and her brother, Bob.

Sharon loved this quote: "I am at Peace, my Soul's at rest. There is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed for all those years, I will see you again"

Sharon is survived by her son, John Edward Orsini of Morris; her two daughters, Dawn M. Orsini of Waterbury and Donnalee O. Green and her husband Kevin of Torrington; her brother, Robert J. Readel and his wife Joanne of Naugatuck; her sister-in-laws, Anne Drolet and Barbara Orsini of FL; her six grandchildren, Michaella K. Gudrian, John P. Orsini, Miranda G. Gudrian, Christopher E.
