Obituary
Waterbury- Mr. Shawn P. Zimmerman, 34, died, Tuesday, July 29 in Arizona after a long battle with a chronic illness.
Shawn was born September 26, 1973 in Waterbury son of James P. Zimmerman of Waterbury and Sheila M. (Hock) Zimmerman of Waterbury. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School were he played varsity football. Shawn had served as an altar boy at the former St. Thomas Church in Waterbury and had been active in cub scouts. He was a talented artist and animal lover, especially dogs. Shawn was a warm and loving person with a big heart and was thoughtful, caring and respectful to all those he knew until his disease took over.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a precious son, Shawn P. Zimmerman, Jr of Danielson; his twin brother, Jamie Zimmerman of Waterbury; one sister, Jolie Lynn Pessillo of Waterbury; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Theresa Zimmerman of Nashua, New Hampshire; several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece Michaela Zimmerman and a nephew Cody Zimmerman both of Georgia; his mothers longtime companion, Kevin McCannon, his former fiancé, Katie Kiff and her parents Brad and Sara of Danielson. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Grace Hock.
Arrangements: A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 14, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. A memorial Mass will be held September 27th at 9:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
