WATERBURY — Stephen D. Kozak, 79, of the Elton, died Monday May 18, 2009 at Crescent Manor. He was the widower of Elizabeth (Lawlor) Vierra Kozak since 1996.
Mr. Kozak was born on August 4, 1929 in Bridgeport, to the late Stephen F. and Irene (Navin) Kozak. Stephen served his country for three years during the Korean War when joining the U.S. Army. He retired from NottinghamTowers in which he worked in maintenance and as a welder for twenty-two years. Stephen attended the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church and loved making friends and socializing at the Elton, he is reflected upon as being a very kindhearted man who especially looked forward to spending the holidays with family and anyone considered as family.
He is survived by a step son, Frank Vierra of Waterbury, two step daughters, Delphine Vierra and companion James Beaudoin of Prospect, Elizabeth and her husband Robert Couture of Oxford, and two grandchildren Gina and Christopher Vierra of Wolcott. Arrangements: Friends and family may gather directly at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, May 22, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Internment will follow in the Old Calvary Cemetery.
