Waterbury – Mr. Thomas Anthony Velazquez, Sr, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, at his home. Tom was born May 16, 1939 in New York, NY, son of the late John and Josephine (Ramos) Velazquez. Tom served honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired after many years working as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney. He is survived by his children, Vanessa Olivero and her husband Jimmy, Denise Rosado and her husband Melvin, Thomas A. Velazquez II and his wife Madelyn and Scott L. Rodriguez and his wife Heather; his sisters, Mary Jo Gutman and Rosie Diaz; his grandchildren, Jimmy, Michael, Jaime Lee, Melvin II, Matthew, Scott Jr, Zakry, Jared, Alexi, Rosaly, Rosemary, Roxanne, Sadie and Luis ; his great-grandchildren, Syin, Jayse, Asen, Melvin III, Travis, Josephine, Carter, Xiyleia Myra, Imani, Elias Hudson and Havana; his former wife, Sonia Velazquez and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial in the Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery will be private.
