Vernon - Mr. Vernon Caraway, 63, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Monday morning, August 2, at the Westside Care Center in Manchester. Vernon was born February 21, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Lloyd Scott and Naomi (Chapman) Caraway. Raised in waterbury he attended local schools and Kennedy High School. He was a ember of Zion Baptist Church and will be remembered for his love of all sports and music. He is survived by his son, Cornelius Rountree of Waterbury; his daughter, Janice Rountree of NC; his brother, Lloyd Chapman Caraway of SC; his sisters, Patricia Ann Caraway of Waterbury, Mary Belle Caraway of New Haven and Julia Ann Caraway of Waterbury and his fiance, Romona Hunter of Waterbury. he was predecased by his siblings, Marin Jean Caraway, Donald caraway and Ozzie Caraway. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Zion Baptist Church. 137 Pearl St, Waterbury.
