Waterbury – Viola Veronica Carpenter, 90, of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at VITAS at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on February 10, 1933 in Kingston, Jamaica, daughter of the late Viola Thomas. She enjoyed cooking for her family and traveling. She is survived by her son, Conrad W. Carpenter and his wife Norma; two grandchildren, Christina Nyhus and Conrad M. Carpenter; her great-granddaughter Karyn Nyhus; two nieces Shirley Nichols and Lorna Murphy; and several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the start of the service at 10:30. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
