William Murray Good, 60 years old, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, surrounded by his family and dear friends. Known to many as Bill, he grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut, the son of Marilyn McKenna Good and the late Dr. Philip S. Good. Bill is survived by his sister, Kathleen C. Good of Providence, RI; his brother, Philip T. Good and sister-in-law Kelly Good of Warren, CT; and his beloved nephews, Jack and Quinn Good. He attended Holy Cross High School in Waterbury and went on to study at Columbia University before graduating from Fairfield University with a degree in Social Work. Bill was a social worker for the Connecticut Public Defender's Office in Stamford. Bill touched so many lives with his great sense of humor, wisdom, and courage. In addition to social work, Bill was a passionate collector and dealer of antique books—a pursuit that reflected his deep love of literature and learning. His family is especially grateful to Mrs. Mary Cady, his English teacher at Holy Cross High School, who recognized and nurtured that love early on. A memorial scholarship in his honor is forthcoming Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from Bergin Funeral Home to Our Lady of Loreto Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
