Obituary
Waterbury – Alberta "Gloria" Simons, 79, of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Alberta was born on April 12, 1933 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Juan and Eugenia (Carmona) Simons.
Alberta is survived by her three daughters, Gricel Rodriguez of Helotes, TX, Aurora "Bobbi" Alves, and Marisel Rodriguez, both of Waterbury; five siblings, Isabel Simons, of Waterbury, Perfecta Perez, of Waterbury, John Simmons, of Florida, Victoria Simons, of Puerto Rico, and Mercedes Rodriguez of Waterbury; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Quiana, Ariana, Andre, Isabel, Marcus, and Aaliyah; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and brother-in-laws. She is predeceased by one brother, Domingo Simons.
Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00 A.M, on Thursday, April 18, at Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church, 13 Wolcott Rd., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening, April 17, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury.
