Waterbury – Ana Celia Padilla, 52, of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, August 5th at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of 37 years to Richard Velez.
 
Ana was born on February 14, 1965 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, daughter of Margarita Padilla and the late Graciano Padilla. Ana will be remembered for her love of family, music and shopping. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandson.
 
Besides her husband and mother, Ana is survived by her daughters, Vanessa Velez, Jessica Velez, and Monica Padilla; six siblings, her twin brother, Graciano “Ody” Padilla, Lyssette Padilla, Nelida Padilla, Jimmy Padilla, Henry Matos, and Evelyn Montero; her grandson Jair Bugg; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St. Waterbury. A funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon at the Shrine of St. Anne’s, 515 South Main St. Burial will be private.
