Waterbury - Anthony Tripodo, 66, of Waterbury passed away on Saturday, May 7 at VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit in Waterbury after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was the husband of Edith Irizarry Tripodo.
Anthony was born on April 12,1956 in Bronx, New York, son of the late Gladys Cabrera and the late Benjamin Tripodo. He worked in masonry and had a love for the arts and music. He also enjoyed playing handball and the congas with his friends at Lakewood Park in Waterbury.
Besides his wife, Anthony leaves his two sons, Marc Anthony Tripodo of Florida and Alexander Tripodo of Waterbury, and his sister, Lorraine Irizarry of Waterbury. He was well loved by his large, extended family and friends in the community.
Anthony’s family would like to thank the nursing staff at VITAS and the Harold Leever Cancer Center for caring for Anthony during his time of need.
Family and friends may call on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W Main St. Burial will be held privately.
