Betty M. Torres

Betty (Finkle) Torres, 74 of Waterbury, left us on Saturday evening, November 16 at Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. She was to wife to Juan Torres.

Mrs. Torres was born April 14, 1945 in Waterbury. She was the daughter of the late Carl & Gladys Finkle and a long time member of Eagle Rock Congregational Church in Thomaston. Beside her husband of 53 years she leaves a daughter Marina (Rena) Pixley with her husband Raymond Pixley of Winsted, John Torres with his wife Cheryl Torres of Winsted and Carl Torres with his wife Jennifer Torres of Waterbury. Betty has eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are: Raymond Pixley Jr., Amanda Cyr with her husband Dave Cyr, Eric Pixley with his wife Amanda Pixley, Elizabeth Torres, Rebecca Fisher with her husband Jacob Fisher, Alyssa Torres, Matthew Torres with his wife Kelsey, Marina Torres, Michael Torres, Carl Torres Jr., and Jennalyn Torres. Her great-grandchildren are: Kobe Pixley, Leilah Cyr, Isabel Cyr, Roman Pixley, Mason Torres and Kora Torres. She also leaves behind a brother, Eugene, of Naugatuck and best friends Garlyn Monroe of Thomaston and Flora Quillia of Randolph, Vermont and a parade of nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Friday, November 22nd at Eagle Rock Congregational Church in Thomaston. Calling hours are from 10am to 11am with the service immediately following at 11am. Burial to follow the service at Northfield Cemetery in Northfield, CT.

She will be missed by all.
