Brian C. Welch

Thomaston – Mr. Brian C. Welch, 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, at the Charlotte Hungerford in Torrington. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Terry) Welch.

Brian was born September 6, 1941 in Bristol, son of the late George W. and Audrey (Garrett) Welch. Raised in Plymouth, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Terryville High School, class of 1959. He had served honorably in the United States Air Force. He had been employed for thirty-six years as an equipment installer for Lucent Technology, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Thomaston. He had a love of fishing, traveling, gardening and working in his home wood shop.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Brain is survived by his daughter, Kristin L. Begin and her husband John of Torrington; his brother, Bruce A. Welch of LA and his grandson, John. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie B. Wenzloff.

A memorial service in celebration of Brian’s life will be held in September at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston.
