Daniel C. Riddick

Waterbury – Mr. Daniel C. Riddick, 47, departed this life on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Daniel was born April 16, 1976 in Waterbury, son of Cherry (Vann) Riddick and the late Deacon David C. Riddick. He was a graduate of Wolcott High School and the University of Connecticut at Storrs. At an early age he was baptized and became a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waterbury where his parents and brother were members.

He loved sports and all during his school years he played soccer, basket and baseball. It was his dream to be an NBA basketball player. After school he worked at Blasius Chevrolet until his death. In his free time he loved to help the neighbors with their landscaping in the spring and shoveling snow for them in the winter. He was a kind hearted person and loved reminiscing of old times with family members, he also loved to eat but would never gain a pound.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Cherry Vann Riddick of Fuquay Varina, NC; sisters, (Ret. MSG) Jacqueline (James) Mazon-Baldwin of Cary, NC and Darlene F. Mazon of Waterbury; brother Derek C. (Sofia) Riddick of Oakville; three nieces, Ebony, Mariah and Mercedes; one nephew, Julian David and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 A.M. at Zion Baptist Church 137 Pearl St. Waterbury.
