Litchfield – Edward “Ed” Capaldo passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday April 10th after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.

Ed’s last days were spent with his family by his side; he shared his humor and held his quick wit until the very end. He was born to the late Pasquale Capaldo and Mary (Cooper) Capaldo in Waterbury on March 10, 1949. Ed graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He was a self-employed floral designer since the early 70’s. Ed was grateful to his many clients over the past 42 years as he mutually shared in their most profound emotions.

He was a highly skilled floral designer and was inducted into the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers in 2004.

Ed is survived by two daughters Jodi Lyn Capaldo and her partner Robert Muccino, Jr. and Alissa Geralyn Capaldo; three grandsons, Kenneth and Joseph Bly and Braden Capaldo; two brothers, Raymond Capaldo of Alabama and Frank Capaldo of South Carolina and a sister Peggy (Capaldo) Santopietro of Wolcott; two special cousins Diane Capaldo, and Carol (Capaldo) Gatzuras and several nieces and nephews. Ed also leaves behind his best friend and life partner, Edward J. Miller of Litchfield, CT.
   
Ed’s family would like to thank The Miller Family and The Campbell Family for their strength and support along his journey.

In respect to Ed’s wishes he has chosen cremation with no services.
