Jodi and Allissa,
Your Father and I have been friends since we were 11 years old. I lived in his backyard, I remember laughing a lot, riding around in his Rambler, singing and having a ball. I was deeply sadden to hear about his passing. I'll treasure those childhood memories forever. Carol and I both send our deepest sympathies to you and your families.

I was shocked to hear of Ed's passing. We were good friends for many years, but inexplicably we "lost touch" the last few years. My heartfelt condolences to Jodi, Alissa and his partner, Ed. I hope you find some solace in the fact that he's done suffering and at peace with his maker. Ed was a kind and generous soul, who will be missed by all who knew him. This verse from a Dylan song conveys my feelings at this time:

He was a friend of mine

He was a friend of mine

Every time I think about him now

Lord I just can't keep from cryin'

'Cause he was a friend of mine

To Ed's family:
Ed was a great friend. Sam grew up with him in townplot. He even did our wedding flowers in 1972. He did a great job. He was so talented in his field. What a great person he was. We will miss him so much. God bless!

Jodi & Alissa, your dad was one of a kind. He touched the lives of many, mine included. Ed, you were my mentor, one of my dearest friends and always like a second dad to me. I will miss you dearly - your talent was boundless, your personality and humor incomparable there was no one like Yeddie Capaldo. Thank you for the years of friendship and wonderful memories - how we laughed! I know you will be busy selling flowers to everyone up there and beautifying heaven. Till we meet again.

Ed was my life partner. He was the light and love of my life. He made me laugh when things weren't going well and made me realize how truly blessed I was compared to many others. But what I most admired about Ed is how he truly cared about the welfare of others. How he would go out of his way to help those in need even to the point of doing without something himself in order to ensure that someone he knew or in a few instances didn't really know at all got what they needed, like the electricity turned on or the rental of a van for an employee and family. And he turned the other cheek when people obviously took advantage of him or occassionally actually cheated or stole from him or his business. He would say: Well, they must need it more than I do. I will miss Ed every moment of the days I have remaining, but I know he will be there waiting for me with open arms when next I see him. Knowing Ed has made me a more caring and humble man, and I thank him and love him for the example he set for all of us.

We fell in love Ed from the moment we met him. His kindness and genuine personality were traits we will always remember. It wasn't long after meeting Ed that he became a member of our family. We shared so many good times with he and Ed whether it was at our home, in CT or vacation in Key West. What good times we had playing dominoes! We'll truly miss you our dear dear friend.
