Tribute

Harvey George Fotter, Jr., 80, passed away after a long illness at Elim Park Health Care Center, Cheshire, on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. He leaves his wife Harriet (Oonk) Fotter of Cheshire. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, on April 20, 1940, he was the son of Harvey G. Fotter, Sr. and Frances Shepherd Fotter. Hank, as he liked to be called, is survived by his children and step-children; Matthew (Roberta) Fotter of Albuquerque NM, Susan Fotter Morandi of Shelton CT, John (Christine) Lindholm of Atlantic Highlands NJ and Mark Lindholm of Madison ME; grandchildren, William and Thomas Fotter, Kayla and Sarah Morandi, Zachary, Ryan, Jimmy and Elle Lindholm; his brother Stephen (Abby Johnston) Fotter. He was predeceased by his sister Ellen Jamison. Hank spent his school years in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and he considered Maine his home. Hank graduated from Wesleyan University and later received his Master in Finance from Columbia University.

Hank realized early on that sitting behind a desk was not for him and began a residential development and construction career at Heritage Village in Southbury. Subsequently, he and his partner Karl Jalbert created The Builders Group, Woodbury, and built condominiums and single family homes from Orange to Woodbury. In the 1990’s Hank set out on his own and designed and built custom homes, his dream job.

Hank’s family is so grateful to the loving staff of the Health Care Center. For four and a half years, they cared for him, entertained him, treated him as if he were a member of their family. And a special thank you to Masonicare Hospice for guiding us on our journey - Jane, Vicky, Denise and Fran.

A memorial will be held in the summer of 2021 due to COVID-19.

Hank chose to donate his body to the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University for medical education and research.

Donations in Hank’s name may be made to the Elim Park Employee Emergency Fund or to a charity of your choice. Please make checks payable to Elim Park, memo line: Employee Emergency Fund, and mail to Elim Park, 150 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, CT, 06410 ATTENTION Elena Houle.
