Waterbury – Mr. Hector Rosado Sr., 66, passed away peacefully in his home, on Thursday, November 16.
Hector was born in Waterbury on December 27, 1956, son of the late, beloved Jorge Rosado Sr. and Amparo Santiago. Raised in Waterbury, he was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1976, and attended Post University and New England Tractor Trailer Training School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1976-1980, receiving a Medal of Good Conduct. He went on to work as a tractor trailer driver, construction worker, maintainer and food vendor at the Boulevard Flea Market, where he enjoyed a sense of community and serving people piraguas on Sundays. He never allowed his hard working hands to go idle for the remainder of his years, allowing him to give freely, as his generosity for others was insurmountable.
Hector loved being one of eight siblings, having a good laugh with his brothers and picking up a good plate of food from his sisters. He loved it so much, he could only have a large family of his own.
Hector is survived by five sons, Hector Rosado and his wife Kellie, Jason Rosado, Hector Rosado Jr., Christopher Rosado and Justice Rosado Gonzales; seven daughters, Christina Bryant and husband Dan, Debra Lee Rosado and fiancée David Jurewicz, Joshlynn Neal, Delilah Cosmos and husband Nicolas, Samantha Rosado and husband Jason Hawk, Jasmine Rosado and Caitlin Morales; five brothers, George Rosado Jr. and wife Gladys, Wilson Rosado and wife Naida, Wilfred Rosado and late wife Carmen, Melvin Rosado and wife Denise, and is predeceased by Edwin Rosado; two sisters, Elizabeth Torres and husband Pedro, and Betzaida Rosado; eleven grandchildren, Destiny Lopez, Christina Rosado, Exodus Rosado, Julius Rosado, Noah Rosado, Caiah Bernard-Rosado, Nisia Cosmos, Kamiron Moore, Lilyana, Giovanni Lugo and Zealah Gonzales and countless nieces and nephews, all of whom had their special relationship with Tio Hector. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Xavier E. Outland.
Hector’s trademark was his jovial laugh that echoed the walls of any room he walked into. His unparalleled sense of humor turned even the most difficult situations into a comical event. For this reason, he was loved by the many children that surrounded him.
Besides spending time with his family, Hector loved football, baseball and fishing. He served as captain of the football team during his years at Crosby High School and played baseball for local teams. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets and Jets and can be found home watching the game while playing with his grandchildren. He instilled his love for fishing and loyalty to his teams for generations to come.
