Waterbury – Irene S. Yarosh, 65, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. She was the loving wife of John Yarosh for 41 years.
Irene was born in Waterbury on July 7, 1952 to the late Phillip and Mary (Snowden) Nirka. She worked as a CNA for Park Manor Nursing Home for 22 years, and had recently been working part time for Top O’ The Morning restaurant in Waterbury. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family.
Including her husband, John, Irene is survived by her daughters, Jodi Dostaler, of Brookfield; and Vicki Valente, and her husband, Jeff, of Bethlehem; her brother, Neil Nirka; her sister, Jane Simaitis; her granddaughters, Kaitlyn Valente; and Marisa Valente; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Including her parents, Irene was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Worden; Christine Bennett; Helen Gladu; Mary Ann Margison; and John Nirka.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. A funeral home service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
Irene’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, Harold Lever Center, and the Danbury Hospital, for the exceptional care they had shown during her stay.
