Beloved Husband and Father
Waterbury – Jesus Pilar Gautier, 64, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 surrounded by his family at Smilow Cancer Hospital after a courageous fight. He was the husband of Lidia A. Paredes De Gautier for 39 years.
Jesus was born in Sabana de la Mar, Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic on January 25, 1954 to the late Jose Ramon and Altagracia (Rijo) Gautier. He worked various jobs in construction and as a painter. Jesus had his Masters in Medical Technology in his native land of the Dominican Republic. He graduated from UASD.
Jesus had a great sense of humor and enjoyed fishing, the ocean, working on cars, music and dancing, and working in the garden on his flowers and tomatoes. Jesus is loved by many family and friends and will be missed dearly.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lidia; his daughters, Jennifer Gautier; Rocio Gautier, and her husband, Geraldino Barros; and Walkiria Gautier; his granddaughter, Dajanette M. De La Cruz; 9 brothers and sisters in the Dominican Republic; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends including Bienvenido Vasquez (Best Friend and Comparde), Jose, Esmeralda, Misael and Fafi.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will be held privately.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at Smillow Cancer Hospital - Hemotology Department in New Haven and Midstate Medical Center in Meriden for the exceptional care shown to Jesus and Family during his battle, as well as all of his friends who helped care for him.
