Waterbury - “Meridor” peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by family Friday morning. He was born in Yauco, PR and is the son of Enrique Martinez and Ramona Feliciano.
He’s been a Waterbury resident for 57 years and has touched the lives of countless amount of people with his love, charm, and colorful humor. Family and children were a joy to him. He was affectionately also known as “Papito”. He will be sorely missed by many.
He leaves behind his wife, Norberta and sons John R. Martinez and Waldemar Martinez (predeceased), daughter Yolanda Martinez, grandchildren Leo Torre, Markus Alvarado, Daniela Martinez, John Diego Martinez and great-grandson Jax Torre.
Meridor was a monthly sponsor of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a small donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 , on behalf of Juan Meridor Martinez. He would love that.
Calling hours will beheld on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. Due to the current crisis, all attending are asked to a wear face mask and to follow social distancing guidelines. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at New Pine Grove Cemetery.
